Hotel Best Western La Mare O Poissons

We stayed her as we were looking for a hotel near to the ferry terminal and were very pleased we chose La Mare O Poissons. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful and genuinely made us feel welcome, the room was clean and in spite of it being one the coldest days (and night) of the year it was very comfortable. The breakfast was a buffet with a good choice of hot and cold food and drinks. The Padam Padam restaurant adjoining the hotel is recommended, both for the food on offer and it's value for money. We will certainly stay here again.

Excellent location for the ferry, with a good restaurant attached. The restaurant offers many typical French/Normandy dishes and my husband said he had the best onion soup ever. Good staff in the hotel (thank you for your assistance and conversation, Severine) and the room was extremely clean. Definitely a hotel to revisit when back in the area.

This is a greater property for Ouistreham port, particularly if arriving late. There is someone on reception all night (though obviously better to advise of late arrival). Parking is plentiful, in the hotel grounds. Rooms are spacious enough, very good bathrooms and very good beds and linen. Breakfast, by French standards, is fine. There is now an on-site restaurant which sounds good, but I haven’t had the opportunity to try this. Staff are always professional and pleasant. Tea/coffee making in bedrooms.

I arrived after an 11 hour drive and just wanted to relax in a comfortable room. The hotel is 2 mins from the ferry check in. I was welcomed with a very friendly greeting and a big smile. The room was well decorated, modern clean with a very comfortable bed and great shower. I asked for a meal in my room which appeared in 10 minutes and was surprising good. Boeuf Bourginon and a chocolate mouse, both of which were delicious. Breakfast the following morning was a treat to behold. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cold ,meats, cheeses, pancakes and fresh croissants. plus plus. The best 15 euros ever! And a very friendly greeting at 6.30 in the morning! I will certainly stay again and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

The location was perfect for catching the ferry the next day. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and have all you need for a comfortable stay. The decoration is very stylish and the pool looks gorgeous.
